Gabe moved to Norfolk in 2003, I think, after finishing up at the College of St. Rose.
For the next 20 years he grew and sank deep roots in Norfolk, hatching a career with Pat Moore and raising two beautiful children, Anthony and Rosalie, with Kathleen.

Gabe, Kathleen and Anthony 2014
For those 20 years, from 500 miles away we knew, in only general terms, he enjoyed a level of success, work-wise. We knew he was active in the community in civic organizations like Kiwanis and the Ghent Business Association. We learned (only later – after he passed) to what extent or how active he actually was.
When he came home to our place to visit with us and with our extended family he was always happy to be here -and his success in Norfolk was not something he spoke of very much.
When he passed, we were floored at the outpouring of love and respect coming from all corners. We became aware of the large number of people that expressed connection to him.
It was a bit overwhelming to us -in a good way. We didn’t realize -from 500 miles away.
Gabe truly touched a lot of people.
The purpose in launching this website is to give those people somewhere to submit content that will help keep Gabe’s memory alive.
We said above that Gabe touched a lot of people. The love of his life, Kathleen (Moore) Christensen, his wife of 10 years obviously played a big part in his life.
There’s another person who played a big part in his life that we’d like to acknowledge. Patrick Moore of Norfolk, Va. was separately and at once Gabriel’s friend, confidant, business partner, mentor, and father-in-law. We shaped Gabe’s formative` years. It was Pat who built upon that foundation and helped shape the professional side of him -almost since his arrival in Norfolk in 2003.
