Gabe is truly a brother to me. \u00a0I have had so many great friends, people I consider my \u201cbest friends\u201d and they are. \u00a0I always felt a special bond with Gabe. \u00a0We shared so many common interests and had so many great conversations which I will share later.<\/p>\n

I remember we were on a trip to VT (which he loved) with a fairly large group of his \u201cCT\u201d friends. \u00a0He always loved skiing which he did with several friends of ours on that trip and we always went snowmobiling which we all had such a great time.<\/p>\n

This was the first time I heard him with a raspy cough which I told him I was concerned about and that he should get it checked out. \u00a0He did shortly after which is when he got his initial prognosis.<\/p>\n

I remember vividly him calling me and telling me what the doctor told him. \u00a0He was strong, scared, \u00a0yet confident. \u00a0I was sure this was just a small blip.<\/p>\n

He would come and stay with me days at a time as his treatments were in NYC, and I would take him back and forth to the train station.<\/p>\n

This picture was from one of his last trips to \u201cCT\u201d. \u00a0We enjoyed a nice trip to a winery where we laughed, talked and hugged.<\/p>\n

That hat was left behind at that winery -on a hat rack and we all thought it was a hat he\u2019d like.<\/p>\n

Haha, and he put it on.\u00a0 Seemed to fit him well.<\/p>\n

Everything was great this day. \u00a0I never thought Gabe was \u201cin trouble\u201d until it was too late. \u00a0I always thought everything was \u201cfine\u201d.<\/p>\n

Oh what I would do to just hear my friend Gabe\u2019s voice one more time. \u00a0I have in dreams, which I love, but it\u2019s just not the same.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
